Credell “Coach Pete” Kitchen Announces New Partnership with Muskegon County DHHS to Support Foster Youth.

A powerful new collaboration focused on connection, compassion, and consistent support for Michigan foster youth.

I’m honored to share an important new chapter in my mission to uplift and empower young people across Michigan.

I’ve officially partnered with the Muskegon County Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) to help build and support youth-focused programming for foster youth navigating the complexities of placement, transition, and identity.

This collaboration centers around the Foster Youth Support Group, a program intentionally designed to walk beside young people—not ahead of them, not above them—as they build connection, confidence, and the tools needed to grow through what they’re facing.

A First Session That Reinforced the Mission

My first session with this group left a lasting impact.

What I witnessed wasn’t a room of professionals simply doing their jobs—it was a room full of people who genuinely care. Individuals who show up because this work is their calling, not just their title. People who understand the weight foster youth carry and refuse to let them carry it alone.

That kind of presence matters.

It’s the difference between programming that checks boxes and programming that truly changes lives.

Purpose-Driven Work, Done the Right Way

I’m deeply grateful to collaborate with a team whose mission is to uplift youth beyond their circumstances—not exploit their struggles for funding, optics, or recognition.

This is real work, rooted in humanity, dignity, and love. It aligns seamlessly with everything I stand for as Coach Pete.

Together, we’re laying the groundwork for a model that can scale statewide:
consistent, compassionate, community-centered support for young people who deserve to be seen, heard, and valued.

Gratitude for Leadership and Trust

A special thank you to Andrea Renay and Leslie Kitchen-Slater for welcoming me into this already powerful program and trusting me to bring my voice, energy, and framework into the space.

Your leadership, integrity, and commitment to doing this work the right way is evident—and it’s an honor to stand beside you.

A Message to the Youth

While many of the young people in this program cannot appear in photos due to legal protections, their presence is deeply felt.

Your energy matters.
Your stories matter.
You matter.

You are the reason this work exists—and the reason we continue showing up with everything we’ve got.

As I continue expanding Coach Pete programming and strengthening cultures of accountability, leadership, and real change, I ask that you keep this work lifted.

The work continues.
The mission grows.
And the movement remains rooted in purpose.
